Patrick de Bana

Patrick de Bana was born in Hamburg. He studied dance at the school of Hamburg Ballet. In 1987, he has entered the Béjart Ballet Lausanne where he soon became a soloist. In 1992, he moved to the Spanish National Dance Company under the direction of Nacho Duato, where he remained the premiere for over ten years and danced in productions of Duato, Kylian, Naharin, Forsythe, Ek, and others. 

In 2003 Patrick de Bana created "Nafas Dance Company" in Valencia. Receives the award as the Best dancer, and his company is awarded for the Best Performance. Patrick de Bana composed and himself performed the choreographic text for two films by the world-famous filmmaker Carlos Saura "Iberia" (2005) and "Fados” (2007).

A year later, he toured in Europe with the famous singer Fado Mariza. 

He created many choreographic compositions for different artists and companies in different countries of the world, such as "Introdans" (Netherlands), Tokyo Ballet, Turkish State Opera and Ballet, National Ballet of China. Among his most famous compositions are “Creatures", "The Picture of..." (2008), "Encounter", male duet "Nefes", "White Shadows" (All - 2009), "The Labyrinth of Solitude" - solo for Ivan Vasiliev (2011), "White Shadows" for Tokyo Ballet (2010), "Marie Antoinette" (2010) for the Vienna State Ballet, "Cleopatra" (2012) and many others.
