6000 miles…’ Sylvie Guillem begins with William Forsythe’s ‘Rearray’. She is gorgeous, resolute and in perfect shape <…> Her creative romance with Forsythe began over 20 years ago <…> Since then no other ballerina succeeded in finding so masterful solutions of the Forsythe formula <…>
‘Bye’ choreographed by Mats Ek to the music of Beethoven’s last sonata for piano is directly the opposite to Forsythe’s ‘Rearray’. He is concerned with the movement that comes fr om the heart and the technique is nothing for him unless there is a strong emotion behind it. The choreographer says his play is about the search and about the moment that comes in every man’s life when he must think wh ere to go on.
