Helplessly standing on the stage, like a person, who for the first time in his life entered theatre stage. But, you see, I still managed to reach a considerable scale, despite everything: my Empedocles, my Tasso, my Oedipus - all these were truly great roles! I was once in grace, and it is impossible to get out of it.
Ich Feuerbach by Tankred Dorst

The middle-aged actor comes to the casting in the theatre. In anticipation of the director, he communicates with his assistant. In that conversation, two characters share their life stories – with their ups and downs, without makeup. A piercing story about the subtlety, vulnerability, fragility of the acting soul, the reverse side of any success, of what usually remains behind the scenes. But this time the backstage is revealed to the public, and actors stand very close to the audience. All the pain, the feelings, the thrill, and the anger are just there.

“I’m Here" – is the directorial debut of Tatev Melkonyan. The Armenian actress, who works a lot and successfully in the Russian and Puppet theatres in Yerevan, decided to try herself in a new role. She cast her two friends and both of them, as the protagonist of the performance, for a long time did not work in the theatre. This performance happily returned them to the profession. Modest, chamber staging turned out to be a great success – the first prize of the 3rd Youth Theatre Forum of the CIS, the Baltic States, and Georgia. And now - Chekhov International Theatre Festival.

Heartful acting, risk and faith in each other creates a striking effect. “I’m Here" is an example of very personal work for all its participants. And so it becomes double sincere.
