“Measure for Measure” is an original take by Argentine director Gabriel Chamé Buendia on one of the “problematic” plays by William Shakespeare.
Through the lense of clownery with plenty of witty playful moments, Chamé opens up a world in which the boundaries between truth and illusion are blurred, and humor becomes a tool for revealing deep philosophical and political questions. The play explores themes of guilt, justice and moral duplicity, provokes a viewer to reflect on the issues of human nature and the fragility of life. The production does not strive for realism, but rather invites the audience into a special space where the show becomes an arena for intellectual and emotional discoveries.
“The play is witty and incredibly energetic: it possesses physical dynamics, brilliant acting, stunts and layers of meaning. All this captivates the audience and creates a real adrenaline rush.”

“This is a kind of show that makes you laugh at things that, speaking theoretically, should evoke completely different emotions. Because as a matter of fact, something tragic lies in them.”
