The story is about the twelve last days in the life of a child with incurable cancer. The pink lady is a volunteer nurse at the children’s hospital who earns the confidence of the ten year-old boy doomed by death. She suggests a game to the child: to write letters to God. in which the boy should describe each day as though it lasted ten years. After his death the pink lady finds and reads these letters, which creates the narrative of the play. “Fourteen letters to God" is the subtitle of Schmitt's play. The boy lives in these letters the full life of a hundred-and-ten year-old man, a touching and amusing life, in which he has time to fall in love, to many, to get acquainted with his in-laws and to pass away, calm and tired
