The show is winner of the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment and Best Theatre Choreographer
Matthew Bourne. Matthew launched his latest company, NEW ADVENTURES in 2002 with the award winning 'Play Without Words' at the National Theatre and a smash hit 'Nutcracker' at Sadlers Wells. Both productions have been seen across the UK and will have extensive international tours. These productions were followed by revivals of 'Swan Lake' and 'Highland Fling', both of which have had extremely successful UK and international tours.
He was Artistic Director of Adventures In Motion Pictures between 1987 and 2002 (Works include ’Highland Fling', 'Swan Lake', 'Cinderella' and The Car Man’). He also created the choreography for revivals of the classic musicals. ’Oliver' and two RNT productions,
'My Fair Lady' and 'South Pacific'. Last year he choreographed and, with Richard Eyre, co-directed 'Mary Poppins' in the West End. His plans for this year include a new production of 'Edward Scissorhands'.
His awards include two Tony Awards, five Olivier Awards, The Evening Standard Award, and an OBE.
