Ekaterina Novikova is a cultural expert, art historian, and orientalist. For over 25 years, she has been studying Chinese culture, art, and philosophy. She holds a PhD in Cultural Studies specializing in traditional forms of Chinese art.
From 2003 to 2015, she was a researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow).
She has repeatedly participated in the preparation and execution of events dedicated to Chinese culture as an expert, coordinator, and translator. These projects include: the Chinese Culture Festival within the framework of the Year of China in Russia; the traveling Chinese culture festival "Moscow - Volga - Don"; the anniversary concert at the Bolshoi Theatre in honor of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the PRC and the Russian Federation; the International Festival of Contemporary Dance in Beijing; the International Theatre Festival in Wuzhen (China); the International Arts Festival in Shanghai, among others.
She actively collaborates with the Chekhov International Theatre Festival.
At the intersection of several art forms, a unique visual, plastic, and musical dialogue is born.
The cultural meanings of the performance "Poetic Dance: Journey of a Legendary Landscape," the peculiarities of Chinese aesthetics, and related themes will be discussed at the meeting.
