Everything in this production is exactly as it should be in a model classic comedy of characters. There is the main character – Harpagon, whose every thought is about increasing his capital. This is the goal of his life, for which all means are good. The children need to be successfully placed, the son needs to be married to a rich widow, the daughter needs to be deprived of her dowry and married to a rich old man. And the money needs to be hidden in the basement so that no one steals it. But the money, naturally, disappears…
