After the performance one long remains under the impression of having traveled to the enchanted world abounding in the phantasmal and surreal images that the dramatic poet dreamed about and afterwards translated into the scenic reality. The dismembered and splintered identities allow the director to go back to the age-old forms of theatrical expression. The artful and refined choreography and the structure of the text, as well as the strikingly grotesque and poetic imagery would make Robert Wilson turn pale from envy.
Süddeutsche Zeitung, September 27, 2008

Andreas Kriegenburg penetrated right into the poetic and sadly comical heart of the Kafka’s novel. The absurdity finds expression in the consistent duality of characters, events, gestures, sounds and words. A comparison with sad comic of the silent movies Buster Keaton inevitably comes to mind for humor always finds a hiding place behind madness and agony.
