A German theatre group Pan Optikum was founded in 1982 as an open theatre, and its troupe created something from dramatic acting, dancing, music and pyrotechnic. All projects of the company have been bright, but they cardinally differ from each other in meaning, methods and devices of stage representation.
The Four Elements project, as one could easily guess, tells about four substances: firth, water, fire and air. The so-called four protoelements have been the most ancient substances ever existing on our planet. Not any living being, not any plant had ever appeared on the Earth when water filled in huge hollows in the ground and created oceans, when the flames of volcanoes emerged out of the heart of the earth and the ashes were dispersed above the land and water by cold and quick winds. Choreographic staging, acrobatics and walking on stilts turn. This performance into tableau vivant and pyrotechnical effects compose the atmosphere of mysterious antiquity Tremendous figures obedient to the will of the winds represent a fantastic world, free of any laws but the laws of Nature. Dancing and live music add to the whole picture, creating a miraculous world indeed, which has never been troubled by the Man, in there is nopain.no fear, in which everything takes its course, inevitably approaching the next step - appearance (creation) of life.
