Programme announcement for the 16th Chekhov International Theatre Festival

On 24 October 2022 at 13:00, the Grand Hotel Marriott hosted a press conference dedicated to the announcement of the programme for the 16th International Chekhov Theatre Festival. The Festival will take place in Moscow from 24 May to 8 October 2023. As tradition dictates, the programme will consist of the World Series, the Moscow Programme, the Regional Programme, the Educational Programme and a number of additional events for a wide audience. The World Series programme of the 16th Chekhov Festival includes 15 performances across a range of genres from 13 countries around the world – Argentina, Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, Chile, China, Cuba, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, South Africa, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.

Valery Shadrin – General Director of the International Chekhov Theatre Festival;

Mikhail Shvydkoy – Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation;

Alexey Bartoshevich – Theatre scholar, Doctor of Arts, one of the founders of the International Chekhov Theatre Festival;

Vladimir Pankov – Vice‑President of the International Confederation of Theatre Unions;

Narine Grigoryan – Director of the production "Mumu";

Irina Apeksimova – Director of the Taganka Theatre, actress in the production "Mumu" (a joint project of the Taganka Theatre and the International Chekhov Theatre Festival);

Camila Meskell – Actress in the production "To Moscow! Palimpsest" (Brazil);

Carlos Suzuqui de Amorim – First Secretary of the Embassy of Brazil;

Farkhad Moldagali – Director of the production "Kulager" (Kazakhstan);

Timofey Goldberg – Conductor and Artistic Director of the Minin Choir;

Svetlana Karyukina – Director of the Republican Theatre of Belarusian Drama.
