The XVI Chekhov International Theatre Festival is again spilling out of doors to acquaint the Muscovites and visitors with various aspects of open-air theatre.
On 18, 19 and 20 August 2023, at 21:00, at the Island of Dreams Southern Landscape Park (Moscow, Andropov Prospekt, 1) the InZhest Plastic Theatre will present The Golden Age, a fairytale for both kids and adults, with elements of fantasy and brilliant fireworks. This company, the oldest and one of its kind in Belarus, has worked in the genre of pantomime, plastic and open-air theatre for more than forty years. Beginning fr om 1980, the InZhest Theatre has created over 25 productions. Its head, the director and actor Viacheslav Inozemtsev, lectures at the InZhest Theatre Studio in Minsk, and runs master classes abroad, based on the original “Animal Dances” method, which combines psycho-physical training of actors, pantomime, improvisation and Buto — the avantgarde form of dancing that appeared in Japan in the second half of the twentieth century. The Golden Age is a unique show which took part in many international festivals. This open-air pantomime comprises all features of the Baroque theatre, i.e. spectacularity, sumptuous costumes and a wealth of special effects which will dazzle the audience. The improvised stage is used by the actors to tell a beautiful story about the all-conquering love in the Golden Kingdom, wh ere the good will needs be rewarded, and the scary creatures inevitably punished by the intervention of supreme powers. For all the entertainment, the show is not devoid of philosophic depth. Viacheslav Inozemtsev and his InZhest Plastic Theatre always prefer it that way.
The show runs for 50 minutes. Attendance is free of charge.
