Chekhov Festival's Regional Programme kicks off in Voronezh
The Regional Programme of the Chekhov Festival has officially started in Voronezh.
On the afternoon of 10 June, a press conference was held with the participation of Karina Tsaturova, General Director of the International Chekhov Theatre Festival; Maria Mazur, Minister of Culture of the Voronezh Region; H.E. Héctor Isidro Arenas Neira, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Colombia to Russia; actor Germán Jaramillo; Yuri Zaytsev, Director of the Platonov Festival; and others. The meeting presented the International Theatre Programme of the 14th Platonov Arts Festival.
That evening, the stage of the A. Koltsov Drama Theatre hosted a performance of "No One Writes to the Colonel" by the Delia Zapata Olivella National Centre for the Arts and the People's Theatre Workshop (Colombia), based on the short story by Nobel laureate Gabriel García Márquez.
The Colombian theatre company visited Voronezh for the first time as part of the Regional Programme of the International Chekhov Theatre Festival.
