Press conference to mark opening of 17th International Chekhov Theatre Festival
A press conference marking to the opening of the 17th International Chekhov Theatre Festival will take place on 23 May at 12:00 at the TASS Press Centre. The Festival will run in Moscow from 23 May to 25 July 2025.
The opening performance, "Poetic Dance: A Journey Through a Legendary Landscape" by the Group of Eastern Performing Arts (China), will be presented on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace. This large-scale and visually stunning production is inspired by a masterpiece of traditional Chinese landscape painting – a unique 11-metre scroll with a history spanning nearly a thousand years.

H.E. Enrique Ignacio Ferrer Vieyra – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Argentine Republic to the Russian Federation;
Jing Xiaoyong – President of the Group of Eastern Performing Arts (China);
Narine Grigoryan – Honoured Artist of the Republic of Armenia, Artistic Director of the S. Sarkisyan State Theatre "Amazgain", leading actress in the production of Penelope;
