A prestigious regional honour: Karina Tsaturova receives a medal for her contribution to the development of culture in Primorsky Krai
On October 11th, 2026, Oleg Kozhemyako, the Governor of Primorsky Krai, presented Karina Tsaturova, General Director of the Chekhov International Theatre Festival and Head of the Pacific International Theatre Festival, with the Medal for the Development of Primorsky Krai, Third Degree.
The award recognises Karina Tsaturova’s outstanding contribution, together with the entire festival team, to the cultural life of the Russian Far East and acknowledges the results of their extensive work. Thanks to the joint efforts of the organisers and partners, Vladivostok has firmly established itself as the region’s leading theatre capital.
The Pacific International Theatre Festival does more than bring outstanding productions from around the world to Russia — it is transforming the cultural landscape of Primorsky Krai:
· Residents and visitors to the region have a unique opportunity to experience major international productions without having to travel to Moscow or abroad.
· The festival offers an extensive educational programme for both theatre professionals and wider audiences.
· The project brings together industry professionals and opens up new horizons for theatres in Primorsky Krai.
Congratulations to Karina Sergeevna Tsaturova and the entire Chekhov Festival and Pacific Festival team on this well-deserved recognition!
Preparations are now under way for the anniversary 5th Pacific International Theatre Festival. We look forward to even more artistic discoveries, new names, programmes, events and encounters. Once again, the theatrical bridge connecting Vladivostok with the rest of the world will bring cultures and continents together.
