On April 16, 2026, following the programme announcement at the TASS Press Centre, ticket sales for the events of the 4th International Pacific Theatre Festival officially opened.
The 4th International Pacific Theatre Festival will take place in Vladivostok from 18 September to 11 October 2026. The programme features 13 performances across a range of genres, created by theatre practitioners from 13 countries around the world – Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, China, Colombia, France, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Russia and South Africa.
Uncharted facets of world theatre await: a hypnotic street performance from Mexico; an epic drama on the scale of ancient myth infused with the spirit of nomadic culture from Mongolia; a choreographic manifesto reimagining classical and cultural identity from South Africa; a refined avant-garde interpretation of Chekhov from China; a bold international reading of the classics, blending Brazilian direction with the Russian school; a poignant story of waiting and dignity from Colombia; a dynamic synthesis of wushu, dance and multimedia by Malaysian masters; an ironic drama of the "little man" that fuses the Russian psychological school with Peking opera; a Kazakh sound-drama about forbidden love and the tragedy of tradition; a hypnotic dance at the crossroads of Kathak and contemporary movement; a dramatic parable of loyalty and war inspired by Homer's Odyssey from Armenia; a witty Belarusian puppet production about friendship and growing up; a concert-performance where Gogol's satire and Shostakovich's music merge into a piercing sound of laughter through tears – all this and much more awaits audiences in Vladivostok this autumn.
The venues include the Primorye Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre (Grand Hall), the M. Gorky Primorye Academic Regional Drama Theatre, the Primorye Regional Youth Theatre, the Primorye Regional Puppet Theatre, and the Sports Harbour embankment.

"The International Pacific Theatre Festival is taking place in Vladivostok for the fourth time. Over these years, the city has embraced the Festival. This is very important, because nothing can be imposed artificially. Festival audiences follow with keen interest the development of theatre art, the finest examples of which we bring from around the world. This is a highly prestigious project for Vladivostok: it is here, at the eastern border of our country, that an international theatre forum of this level takes place. In addition to the performances, there is an educational programme that gives both audiences and professionals the opportunity to attend masterclasses, meet with foreign colleagues and create new work, including for future festivals. The Festival is also important in terms of developing Russia's relations with the international theatre community. The situation is complex, yet the Festival's geography is expanding. In 2026, we will see productions from India, Mexico, South Africa, Colombia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. It is especially significant that our theatre colleagues from China and Brazil are turning to Chekhov's dramaturgy, while young Chinese directors are creating productions with Russian actors. This means that culture knows no borders, and there are extensive plans for the future. We invite our colleagues to the Festival as guests, and the following year they return as participants with their own productions. At the same time, we – at the Theatre of Nations in particular – are conducting negotiations on the creation of new productions that will enter the Festival programme. This is long-term cooperation. I believe that the International Pacific Theatre Festival has already carved out a niche that no one else had occupied before. We will continue to develop it further."
