Grigory Kozlov

Born in 1955.

Theatre Director, acting and directing teacher, Professor of St. Petersburg Theatre Academy, Artistic Director of the Masterskaya Theatre, he is also the Distinguished Artsmaker of Russian Federation.

After receiving an engineering degree from the Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute, he was admitted at the Leningrad Theatre, Music and Film Institutewhere he pursued the puppetry directing program. His first production, Sasha Chyorny. A Concert Fora Piano And an Artist (monodrama of Alexey Devotchenko, 1990) was very well received. His second production, Moscow. Agony at the Garden (1992), was voted best show of the season. His third production, Crime and Punishmentat the Bryantsev Youth Theatre in St. Petersburg (1994). Mr. Kozlov started teaching at the Theatre Academy in 1994, became master teacher in 1996, and became Artistic Director of the Bryantsev Youth Theatre in 20021-2007. In 2010 he founded Masterskaya Theatre and remains its Artistic Director.
