Henrietta Yanovskaya
Henrietta Yanovskaya, born in 1940 in Leningrad
Graduate of the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography (LGITMiK, class of G. Tovstonogov, 1967). She made her debut with a staging of A Warsaw Melody by l. Zorm (the Maly Drama Theatre), followed by Le Bal de Voleurs by Jean Anouilh In 1968. In 1970-1971 Yanovskaya worked in the Krasnoyarsk Theatre of Young Spectator (The Miracle Worker by W. Gibson, Les Fourberies de Scapin by J.B Moliere), then in the Riga Theatre of Russian Drama (A Farewell in June by A. Vampilov), the Pskov Drama Theatre (Le Mariage de Figaro, ou la Folle Journee by P. Beaumarchais), and the Maly Drama Theatre in Leningrad (The Glass Menagerie by T. Williams). A former head of the Siny Most («Blue Bridge») theatre in Leningrad, since 1984 Yanovskaya has been working in Moscow (A Widow's Steamboat by I. Grekova and P. Lungin (the Mossovet Theatre), Birds of Passage by A. Galin (the Mayakovsky TgBatre)). Since 1987 she’s holding the position of Chief Director of the Moscow Theatre of Young Spectator (MTUZ). Productions: The Heart of a Dog by M. Bulgakov, The Nightingale by H. C. Andersen, Good-Bye, America! by aI Nedzvetsky, based on texts by S. Marshak; Tin Rings by T. Gabbe, Jacques Offenbach, Love and Tru-la-la! after J. Offenbach and The Storm by A. Ostrovsky.
