Иосиф Райхельгауз-eng

born in 1947

Headed the Student Theatre of the Leningrad University in 1966-1968, and graduated from the State Institute of Theatre Art (GITIS, the course of A. A. Popova and M.O. Knebel, 1973). He was one of the first theatre directors in Moscow to stage the plays of S. Zlotnikov, L. Petrushevskaya, V. Slavkin and A. Remez. From 1973 to 1979 and from 1985 to 1989 Reikhelgauz worked as a director in the Sovremennik theatre (From Lopatin's Notes by K. Simonov, And In the Morning They Woke Up by V. Shukshin, Gengangere by H. Ibsen). He also worked in the Stanislavsky Drama Theatre, the Pushkin Theatre, the Hermitage theatre, the Soviet Army Theatre and the Taganka Theatre. In 1989 Joseph Reikhelgauz founded the Moscow Shkola Sovremennoy Pyesy theatre and became its Art Director. Productions: A Man Came to a Woman by S.
